Okay, I apologize. I guess there is at least one other person (besides my mother) reading this blog. I was told I need to get back on and provide some updates. It has been a bit tumultuous....but not as bad as the media would have you believe. We learned back in late April that our Home Study agency was the same agency that the Tennessee woman used (the one who put her son back on the plane to Russia). Our International Coordinators based in Illinois and Kemerovo (where our little guy lives) both urged us to switch agencies and "start again"! This advice came on the same day our final Home Study etc. arrived in the mail...
Luckily we found an agency here in Louisville who very quickly picked up the pieces and has us back on track! In fact, Kip was able to have all our documents apostilled in Frankfort (the capital of Kentucky) and we will be mailing them in after the long weekend...this is the HUGE step we've been working so hard to take since November. From there, the documents will be forwarded to Russia for translation, and off to the Department of Education for review...with approval we will then receive an invitation to meet our son face to face...sometime this Fall.
Thanks for all the continued support and patience.
Thanks for the "gentle push" Robert. I had a hard time putting anything in writing the past couple months...and it does feel good to keep moving forward.

Hi hon,
ReplyDeleteI know that it has been an up and down journey for your family up to this time. It seems that any thing (in this case anyone) worth pursuing takes you on a winding path. Just know that the little boy with a smile that warms the heart is at the end of that path and waiting with his arms upheld to you!!
Love mom
We are in continual prayer for you and yours!!
Thanks Mom. We're not giving up! McKenna has made some videos for Rigdon that I will get Kip to post soon.
