I think it is finally sinking in as to how bad it really is here in Moscow. The fires are not easing up and the smoke which has taken over the city center is considered very caustic. Kip and I thought we'd just run across the street to at least look at the Lenin monument....45 secs outdoors left us coughing and wheezing. I can only imagine the hospital emergency rooms must be packed with people particularly asthmatics. We could really use some of the Philips Respironics SUPERIOR products right now!
We are keeping safe and cool in our hotel room in the Hilton Leningradskya (highly recommend this hotel to future travelers).
I got a little teared up at breakfast when I saw a couple with a young boy. It was obvious that they are on their second trip here and have just completed their 10 day wait after Adoption Court....the boy was a beautiful 20mos old. Another reminder of why we are here.
Leaving for Siberia in 14 1/2 hours...but who's counting?
